प्रदूषण कमजोर करता है बच्चे की याददाश्त

बच्चों को ऐसे स्कूल में पढ़ाना घातक हो सकता है जो सड़क के किनारे हों या फिर जिसके आसपास वायु प्रदूषण की मात्रा ज्यादा हो। एक नए शोध में कहा गया है कि प्रदूषित वायु के संपर्क में आने से बच्चे की याददाश्त पर बुरा असर पड़ सकता है। शोध के अनुसार, ट्रैफिक के कारण ज्यादा प्रदूषित क्षेत्र में पड़ने वाले स्कूल के सात से दस साल के बच्चों में समझ विकसित होने की गति कम होती है। बार्सिलोना के सेंटर फॉर रिसर्च इन एन्वॉयर्नमेंटल एपिडेमियोलॉजी के जोर्डी सनियर ने कहा कि इस शोध के आधार पर भविष्य में वायु प्रदूषण के नियमन बनाने और नए स्कूलों के निर्माण को लेकर सावधानी बरती जा सकती है। शोधकर्ताओं ने 12 महीने की अवधि के दौरान 39 स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले 2,715 बच्चों पर यह शोध किया। प्रदूषित क्षेत्र के स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले बच्चों में समझ विकसित होने की गति अन्य की तुलना में कम पाई गई।

A new research says that exposure to contaminated air can have a bad effect on a child's memory. According to research, seven to ten-year-old school children falling in a heavily polluted area due to traffic tend to have less speed to develop. Jordi Sunier of Barcelona's Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology said that based on this research, caution can be taken in the future to regulate air pollution and build new schools. The researchers conducted 2,715 children studying in 39 schools over a 12-month period. The speed of developing understanding among children studying in schools in polluted areas was found to be lower than others.
